Expecting A Baby
Published: Apr. 28, 2024

New baby on the way? Congratulations!

Preparing for the arrival of your new baby comes with a lot of exciting and important decisions. One of those is choosing a pediatrician. There’s no greater peace of mind than knowing that you’ve made the right choice for you and your baby.

Since we opened our first office in 1955, Pediatric Associates has grown into a well-respected practice caring for generations of residents throughout Florida. With convenient locations across the state, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a compassionate and healthy environment. Our pediatricians and staff are experienced, compassionate and committed to making every visit an enjoyable experience for you and your family.

Tips on What to Do Before Your Child’s Birth

Attend one of our Complimentary Classes for New Parents

Our parent classes are complimentary.  These classes provide you with important information and an opportunity to voice questions and concerns that you may have about your new baby. The list of classes  include New Parent, Breastfeeding, Birthing 101, etc.

Click here for more information or to register for a class.

Get to know our doctors and practice philosophy

Pediatric Associates offers complimentary prenatal consultations with any of our providers. We encourage expectant parents to schedule a visit to get acquainted with our office and staff and give us the opportunity to get to know you. Selecting a pediatrician is an important decision and we want to give you all of the information you need to make the right one.

We firmly recommend that all parents/caregivers should receive the Tdap vaccine before the baby arrives or in the hospital.

Install Your Child’s Car Seat

A safely installed car seat is required before you can leave the hospital with your newborn. Please have your child’s car seat installed ahead of time. Feel free to attend our car seat safety inspections.

Please see our Classes & Events section for event dates and locations.

If you are delivering at a hospital affiliated with Pediatric Associates, a doctor from our practice will see your baby for the first time in the hospital. When registering at the hospital, simply identify Pediatric Associates as your baby’s healthcare provider, even if you haven’t chosen a specific pediatrician.
If you’re delivering at a hospital that is not affiliated with Pediatric Associates, please call to schedule your newborn’s first visit immediately. We suggest the first appointment take place 24 to 48 hours after your baby is discharged.

You can pre-register your baby by calling 1-888-KIDZ-DOC.
